Conduct a Willamette River Floodplain Acquisition Study <br /> Strategy: Conduct a review of privately-owned parcels within the Willamette River floodway and <br /> floodplain for possible acquisition from willing sellers. Include research on potential funding sources for <br /> acquisition. If possible, conduct in conjunction with the Metropolitan area US Army Corps waterways <br /> study currently being discussed with the Corps. <br /> Responsible work unit: Public Works, Engineering <br /> Progress to date: This strategy has not been funded to date. Staff are evaluating this strategy to <br /> determine whether it can be added to the Metro Waterways Study, and what resources can be <br /> applied to the required local match. <br /> Strategy J. Conduct Monitoring and Evaluation Studies <br /> Strategies: <br /> a. Establish systematic and consistent program for sampling of biological indicators of <br /> stream health (e.g., fish presence surveys, macro-invertebrate surveys). <br /> b. Continually review and evaluate maintenance practices to reduce environmental impacts. <br /> c.
