Reasons for the Rotary to participate in the Delta Ponds North. Path project - <br /> • The Corps of Engineers project for the environmental restoration of Delta Ponds and <br /> the associated recreation features will be of national significance and a showcase <br /> .project for the Corps. <br /> • The Corps project will create a tremendous recreational and educational asset for the <br /> City of Eugene for current and future generations and will be linked to the Willamette <br /> River trail system. The North Path project is outside of the scope of the Corps project <br /> and will further enhance the recreational and educational opportunities of the Delta <br /> Ponds. <br /> • _ The North Path project provides a wide variety of construction activities including <br /> brush clearing, trail building, boardwalk and overlook construction and bench and <br /> interpretative sign installation. <br /> • The North Path project is well defined with a clear scope of work and duration. <br /> • The North Path project can proceed concurrently with or in advance of the Corps <br /> project. <br /> • The North Path project provides the_ opportunity for the Rotary to outreach to and <br /> partner with area youth. <br /> • Through Oregon Solutions, the City will develop partnerships with many other local <br /> businesses and service organizations.
