and the City of Eugene (building permits). We will submit the WF2D and DSL applications once we have received the
necessary design details from the Army Corps of Engineers.
• Final Design -Staff will continue to work with the Corps team to refine the design for the restoration and recreation
improvements.
In a related development, the Army Corps of Engineers' funds for the construction phase of the project will not be available
until after October of this year. As a result, construction of the culverts, weirs, habitat benches, parking lots and trails is
now scheduled for the 2005 construction season. As I mentioned above, City staff are continuing to work with Corps staff
on the invasive species removal aspect of the project this construction season, and construction of the North Path by six
local Rotary Clubs will proceed as planned this summer.
Please contact me or Carolyn Weiss (682-4914) if you have questions about the Delta Ponds project. Thanks for your
interest in the project.
Kevin Finney, Principal Landscape Architect
City of Eugene
Public Works Engineering

541-682-6018
2
