FAYE HILLS STEWART
Larie County Commissioner
East Lane District
Faye. As I have
watched this issue move through its evaluation stage with MWMC staff, I have .become
concerned that the cost proposed to Coburg exceeds what other similar sized connections to the
system are charged.
As you conduct your review, could you take the time to compare the proposed costs for Coburg
to other similar-sized private developments - be they large scale subdivisions or commercial uses
such as hospitals - to make. sure Coburg would only be charged what has b~n the normal
ractice in the communit .
p
Y
As we know, Coburg just wants a fair shot at connecting if economically feasible, and if they are
treated equally with other users. If it exceeds their means, then they are prepared to go on their
own. But before we reach that determination, it would be great if they could see, through other
examples, that the proposal from Eugene and Springfield match current practice.
Sincerely yours,
Faye Stewart
East Lane County Commissioner
FS:BVVan
c: Board of County Commissioners ,
Mayor Volta, City of Coburg
r'
PUBLIC SERVICE BUILDING / 125 EAST 8TH AVENUE /EUGENE, OR 97401 / (541) 682-4203 /FAX (541) 682-4616
_ _ _
