_ _
February 3, 2005
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The Lane County Roads Advisory Committee (RAC) has scheduled a public hearing to gather testimony regarding the
draft Five Year. Capital Improvement Program {CIP) for County Road Fund projects -fiscal years 2005-06 through
2009-10. This is the first of two public hearings on this matter. You will receive a second notice sometime in April or
May announcing when the Board of County Commissioners will consider the recommendation of the RAC.
HEARING TOPIC b Draft 06-10 Capital Improvement Program
LOCATION b Lane County Public Works, Delta Complex
3040 N. Delta Highway
Eugene OR 97408-1696
DATE b Wednesday, February 23, 2005
.TIME b 7:00 PM
The CIP is a five-year program used to plan expenditures for capital improvements to the transportation network.
Projects included in the CIP are designed to improve the safety, utility, and efficiency of the existing road network,
accommodate future growth in traffic volumes, reduce maintenance costs, conserve fuel, accommodate alternative
transportation modes, and promote economic development. The draft CIP materials that the RAC released for public
comment are available for your review at the following website address.
http://www:lanecounty. org/Transportation_Planning/CI P. htm
Paper copies of this document can be made available upon request.
TO SUBMIT COMMENTS
BY E-MAIL: mike.pattleCa~co.lane.or.us
BY POSTAL MAIL: Lane County Public Works
ATTN: CIP Coordinator
3040 N. Delta Highway
Eugene, OR 97408-1696
QUESTIONS: Mike Pattie, 541-682-6949
The draft does not fund the Road Partnership payments after FY 06-07, when the current agreements run out. This
draft proposal reflects Lane County's strategic planning priorities of funding county operations and maintenance first
before distributing payments to local communities. You will be given opportunities to provide input to our advisory
committee on February 23`d and to the Board of Commissioners before final adoption of the CIP, in early May.
The mailing lists for the draft and the adopted versions of the CIP are currently being updated. Please notify me of any
changes in the number of copies or to whom the document is being sent within your organization, or if you no longer
desire to receive it. -
Sincerely,
ichael attle, CIP Coordinator

` DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS • 3040 NORTH DELTA HIGHWAY • EUGENE, OREGON 97408-1696.541/ 682-6900 • FAX 541/ 682-8501
_ _ _ _ _
