Memorandum
August 19,1998
ensure telecommunications facilities are not abandoned, and language to manage access to the
facility.
We will then ask our intergovernmental partners for feedback on the policy, since they will be
dealing with similar requests from providers, and since they are our regional partners in operations
with facilities that are potential sites for telecommunications infrastructure (e.g., MWMC, EWEB).
If we receive feedback which substantially changes the policy approved by Executive Managers, we
will bring the item back for review.
The Franchise Manager may recommend changes to this policy, based on the City's experience with

negotiating with providers over the next several months.

If you have questions, feel free to call Warren Wong at (x5046) or Pam Berrian (x5590).
