share with others within the City and Public Works in an effort to provide more <br /> options and examples of currently used recognition practices. <br /> Section 17.9: PM Schedule -The Fleet Service Division has incorporated the <br /> equipment management system FAST~~ as a tool for scheduling PM services. <br /> The software enables staff to identify when equipmenf is due for service, enables <br /> them to produce reports and advance schedules for the equipment to be brought <br /> to the shops for PM service. <br /> Section 17.10: PM Evaluation -The Fleet Service Division had developed a <br /> quality control program to spot check PM-work performed in the fleet shops. Re- <br /> Accreditation will define the exact procedures which achieve the goals of this <br /> section. <br /> Section 17.19: Replacement Analysis -The Fleet Service Division performs the <br /> replacement analysis in cooperation with customers by the evaluation, <br /> documentation and funding policies defined in the Division's Policy and <br /> Procedures manual. <br /> Section 18.2: Tree Inventory -The Urban Forester has developed a plan to <br /> inventory all public trees, the first phase is developing an inventory of all street <br /> trees (about 45% completed to date), and the plan has been approved by the <br /> Public Works Director. <br /> Section 24.10: Operations and Maintenance Inspections -Public Works <br /> .Maintenance staff inspects roadways at regular intervals as part of the Pavement <br /> Management System (PMS), with the intervals based upon functional <br /> classification. The arterials and collectors are inspected annually; one-third of <br /> the local streets are inspected each year, placing locals on a roughly three-year <br /> inspection cycle. Roadways are inspected to identify defects, including cracking, <br /> rutting, raveling, vegetation, flushing and. other faults. Sidewalk inspections are <br /> performed periodically by geographic. area on a rotational cycle of seven years <br /> and are inspected for settling, cracking, heaving and other defects. Bridges <br /> under City jurisdiction are inspected every other year for structural integrity and <br /> to identify damage or decay and are inspected. by astate-certified bridge <br /> inspector under an agreement with the State of Oregon. <br /> Section 25.5: Routing -Public Works Maintenance have established Street <br /> sweeping and flushing routes for all curb and gutter streets with City <br /> maintenance jurisdiction. Routes are prioritized based on street classification <br /> and changing community needs and the routes are regularly assessed for <br /> accuracy and edited as required. The program also has designated routes for the <br /> sweeping of concrete alleys. The route master copies are stored on computer <br /> and as streets are added or modified from routes, operators receive the revised <br /> <br /> data the same day the routes are edited. <br /> <br /> Section 25.9: Dead Animal Pickup -Public Works Maintenance staff remove <br /> Dead animals daily from City rights-of-way using a service request system.
