Maintenance Division <br /> • AVL systems are being tested in PWM vehicles. <br /> • PWM has converted the manner in which it records and stores CCTV <br /> (Closed circuit television) ~rspection video data from analog to <br /> digital format for its underground wastewater and stormwater <br /> infrastructure. Digital formatting provides some enormous <br /> advantages, but with it some significant challenges. Advantages <br /> include streamlined data acquisition and data entry at the operator <br /> level, high quality video, and network based access to these files b <br /> through the organization, ease of reproduction, file management and <br /> back up capabilities. Challenges have included acquisition of <br /> sufficient hardware computer storage to hold these large data file. <br /> Conversion was made in the winter of 2007. <br /> • Both Maintenance Division and POS Administration located in the <br /> same building have been developing a shared files document control <br /> system to show procedures in an "on-line" database <br /> Parks & Open Space Division <br /> • Surveillance cameras: Installed surveillance cameras with motion- <br /> activated DVRs connected, to monitor and record activity in three <br /> high-crime locations within Eugene's parks & open space system. <br /> Locations: two at Meadowlark Prairie Overlook, one at <br /> Checkermallow Access, and three at Spencer Butte. <br /> • CECHEM II -chemical usage tracking database (re-write): Some <br /> enhancements were added to the CECHEM II program: GPS Location <br /> of applications, GIS layers for application areas, and a reporting <br /> capability. <br /> <br /> Wastewater Division <br /> • Safety Recommendation Application: A SQL Server database used <br /> for employees to submit recommendations to improve safety. A <br /> supervisor and manager review process is part of the program, and <br /> all entries are considered in process until closed out by Safety <br /> Coordinator. This program was designed in house and implemented <br /> in 8/06. <br /> • The Supervisor Information Page is an Intranet application which <br /> allows supervisors to check their staffs leave usage, leave balances, <br /> .over-time by date range and performance review dates. Employees <br /> can also access just their information in a page directly from Shared <br /> Documents. <br /> Page 6 <br /> <br />
