The dedication event will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the tree, located in <br /> Owen Memori 1 Rose Garden at the north end of Jefferson Street. <br /> Membe s of the Ore on Herita e Tree Committee will be on hand to resent a la ue to <br /> g g P p q <br /> ,Mayor Torrey. Other speakers at the event will include members of the City Council, a local <br /> historian and a epresentative from the Convention Visitors Bureau of Lane County. <br /> The tre ,which may be as much as 150 years old, is being recognized for its cultural, <br /> historic, and e nomic significance. The Owen cherry tree is one of only 14 heritage trees in the <br /> state. It is the my Oregon heritage tree currently designated in Lane County and is believed to <br /> be the largest erry tree in Oregon.
