o~? <br /> i i i i <br /> i <br /> May 7, 1999 <br /> i <br /> CONTACT: arcia Peeters, Volunteers in Parks Coordinator, 682-4845 <br /> aul Peschiera, Eugene Delta Rotary Club, 683-7042 <br /> From Public In ormation Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMMED ATE RELEASE <br /> GENE DELTA ROTARY ADOPTS OWEN ROSE GARDEN <br /> The ad tion of the Owen Municipal Rose Garden by the Eugene Delta Rotary Club will <br /> kick off this Sa urday, May 8, with an all-day work party and "fellowship opportunity day." <br /> Rotary membe will be joined by City of Eugene parks maintenance staff to finish installing <br /> wooden border around the rose beds, fill in rose beds with loam, add gravel to low spots in the <br /> paths, and plac sand where needed around the finished beds. Other projects are scheduled <br /> throughout the summer. The work party runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with most Rotary Club <br /> members enco raged to arrive between 10 a.m. and noon. <br /> Saturda 's activities mark the start of the Delta Rotary Club's three-year beautification <br /> plan for Owen ose Garden. The beautification plan fits in with the garden master plan <br /> developed with the assistance of the Eugene Rose Society and adopted by the City. A University <br /> of Oregon land cape architecture class currently is working on the design for a pergola (trellis <br /> structure) sche uled to be erected this fall.
