News Releas Lanes Reopen on Ferry Street Bridge <br /> August 30, 1 99 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Desp' e the brief rain delay and the viaduct lane closures, Larsen hailed the completion of <br /> the bridge pa ing as a milestone in the multi-year Ferry Street Bridge project. Most of the <br /> <br /> ' asphalt pavi g north of the bridge has been completed and the paving overlay on Coburg Road <br /> between O ay and Cal Youth roads is substantially completed, giving motorists two or even <br /> three travel 1 nes in each direction. There's also good news for cyclists and pedestrians: the <br /> sidewalks ar open on both sides of the bridge, at least for now, and the new bike path along the <br /> <br /> ~ east side of oburg Road will be ready for use on September 2. <br /> Thro ghout the 2.3-mile-long corridor, motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians will continue <br /> to encounter intermittent delays, Larsen said. Work still to be done includes landscaping, <br /> installing si als, and putting up lights and railing fixtures. While these activities generally are <br /> less disrupti e than paving to the traveling public, they often require lane closures.
