Concoct goers <br /> are invited to bring picnic dinners. Children's Play Equipment -recently purchased and installed <br /> through a joint effort- will be dedicated during the event. Park Partners, including the area chapter <br /> of the Oregon Remodeler's Association, Cub Scout Troop 202, Friendly Area Neighbors, the <br /> NeighborWoods program and the City of Eugene will also be acknowledged dwing the event, <br /> according to Natalie Whitson, F.A.N. (Friendly Area Neighborhood) Psrk Committee co-chair. <br /> "Crabs in the Skillet" will return to the Park for a fourth benefit concert, to play dance music from <br /> Ireland and Britain. Returning for a third appearance, "The Paui Safer Consort", will got feet and <br /> bodies moving with their eclectic brand of folk rock, original songs, and popular standards. "I'm <br /> gratified that these two groups will help us dedicate the new park equipment," says event organizer <br /> Natalie Whitson. "Crabs in the Skillet and the Paul Safer Consort helped Friendly neighborhood <br /> raise the funds to buy the equipment. It is only appropriate that they should help us celebrate its' <br /> inelaiLtion." <br /> <br /> I <br /> s oral ears of free <br /> Since 1994, F.A.N. has sponsored a garage sale and two raffle drawings, and ev y <br /> <br /> ~ concerts in Friendly Park to raise free-will donations of 52600.00 for new play equipment and <br /> other improvements. Thanks to Bob Hammitt, City Maintenance Director, and John Etter, Parks <br /> Planner, the City of Eugene reprioritized existing resources, and agreed to match F.A.N.'s fund- <br /> isising efforts up to 55000.00.
