- ~ <br /> ~ ~ <br /> _ ~ <br /> Iii <br /> !September 24, 1998 <br /> (CONTACT: Teri Higgins; Project Manager, 682-5560 <br /> From Public Information Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> II <br /> DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE IN HENDRICKS PARK AREA <br /> I', A two-week project to improve the stormwater drainage system in and around''Hendricks <br /> II Park is scheduled to begin Monday, September 28. The work includes installing curbing, catch <br /> ~i basins, and underground drainage pipes and is designed generally to improve drainage in the area <br /> ~'i and to capture stormwater which historically has crossed Floral Hill and caused wet conditions on <br /> (III the. east side of the park in the area of the picnic shelter. <br /> Western Oregon Excavation of Blue River has been awarded the contract for the $82,500 <br /> I~~; Eugene Public Works stormwater project. The company will place extruded curbing on the east side <br /> ICI of Floral Hill Drive to channel stormwater flows away from the forested area on the east side of the <br /> I <br /> roadway and into an underground storm drain which will be installed in Summit Drive and Birch <br /> I~', Lane near the picnic shelter. Shallow lines also will be installed to carry the picnic shelter's roof <br /> drainage to the existing stormwater system.
