In a <br /> ulnique partnership that combines public and private resources, the youth of Eugene will be the <br /> b',~eneficiaries of a new baseball complex built by the Willamette Babe Ruth Baseball <br /> olrganization in west Eugene. <br /> I', To commemorate the partnership that involves the Willamette Babe Ruth organization, <br /> tt~e City of Eugene, Lane County, and Bethel School District 52, the participating organizations <br /> vyill hold a celebration to show off plans for the new complex at 11 a.m. Friday, February 6, at <br /> the Bethel School District Administration office, 4640 Barger Drive. <br /> The 8-acre baseball complex will be built on a 35-acre City park parcel just south of the <br /> n w Bethel School District elementary and middle school complex near Barger Drive and <br /> reen Hill Road. <br /> The new facility features four lighted baseball fields, including a lighted tournament field <br /> <br /> vuEith seating for 300 spectators, a concession stand and offices. <br /> The Willamette Babe Ruth organization has already signed a lease agreement with the <br /> City that includes full responsibility for the maintenance and utilities of the new complex for fifty <br /> years at a cost of $1 a year. Babe Ruth will have full scheduling responsibility and will make <br /> -more- <br /> <br />
