MAY-29-1997 615 ESD-METRO IJASTEIJATER 541 726 2309 P.02 <br /> <br /> r i <br /> 'News Rele --.Regional Wastewater SDCs <br /> May 28, 199 <br /> Page 2 <br /> Base on the recommendations of the advisory committee, MWMC adopted.a System <br /> Developmen Charge that is a combination of an equalization fee and fee to fund future capacity <br /> ' improvemen. .The SDC for each new development is based. on the quantity and strength of <br /> wastewater om the development. The initial effect of this change is a reduction in the regional <br /> wastewater C paid by a new single-family .development. For other new development that <br /> generates hi er-strength wastewater. or large volumes of wastewater, charges will increase. <br /> The r gional wastewater SDCs are adopted and collected by the cities. Eugene and <br /> Springfield opt the regional SDC methodology and/or rates through independent processes. <br /> In E gene, the MWMC SDC will be implemented by administrative order following a <br /> 30-day ca ent period that begins May 29. Written comments on Eugene's regional <br /> wastewater ystem Development Charge must be received by June 28 and. should be addressed <br /> to: City M ger Vicki Elmer, Eugene City Ha11777 Pearl Street, Eugene, OR 97401. Copies of <br /> the propose administrative order and other information about the regional SDC are available at <br /> the City M ger's Office, the Eugene Public Works Building at 858 Pearl Street, the Permit and <br /> Information Center at 99 W: 10th Avenue, and the Eugene Public Library. <br /> I <br /> In S ringfield, the MWMC SDC will be adopted by City Council Resolution.
