Motorists <br /> uld! expect tra c delays and detours and are encouraged to use alternative routes. City of <br /> ene, Public W rks Transportation Department is making changes on Sixth; Seventh and <br /> 1 venth avenues well as the Washington/Jefferson Bridge to improve alternative routes. The . <br /> hi~hgton/Jeffe n Street Bridge is recommended for traffic crossing the Willamette River. The <br /> i will provide riodic construction updates and traffic advisories throughout the project. <br /> Constructi work will start with signage and traffic control. At the bridge approach from <br /> r ad~vay/Frankli ,the curbs will be replaced, pavement replaced and the left-turn lane onto <br /> i th Avenue re owed. Work will progress to safety improvements on the Eighth Avenue off- <br /> p and ultimatel anew northbound on-ramp and merge lane will be constructed. <br /> Traffic wil be delayed in the construction areas. Motorists are encouraged to use <br /> t rnative routes. Westbound Franklin Boulevard traffic can avoid the construction by using <br /> 1 venth Avenue d crossing the river on the Washington/Jefferson Bridge. <br /> i In early Jul ,work begins on drilling for supports to the viaduct in the EWEB parking <br /> ~t~ These drilled hafts are 5 feet in diameter, 40 feet deep, and will be filled with concrete and <br /> s~e~l.
