Currently, that area is served only by "bubbler" systems that <br /> channel storm ter into the streets during storms. The new system will carry stormwater through <br /> underground pi es, reducing potential flood damage to public streets and private property during <br /> periods of heav rainfall. <br /> Allsup onstruction of Eugene submitted the low bid to make the improvements. Estimated <br /> cost of the prof ct is approximately $480,000, to be paid from funds collected through City of <br /> Eugene stormw ter user fees. <br /> Access ill be maintained to area businesses, but motorists may encounter delays and <br /> temporary park ng restrictions in construction zones.
