Th Planning Commission rescheduled the hearing, previously slated on October 21, to comply with Eu ene Code public notice requirements. ~ The he 'ng is being held to consider a draft planning document that provides direction for identifying the nctional classifications of Eugene's major (non-local) streets, revises standards for the construction and reconstruction of Eugene's major streets, and implements amendments to the Eugene Code and the str et right-of--way map. The Eugene Street Classifications and Design Standards document contai s a map of proposed street classifications for Eugene's major streets, a description of the purpose and nction of each street type, a description of the criteria used to determine the classification of given street, and proposed revisions to design standards for arterial and collector streets. The doc ment also includes a revised draft of Design Standards and Guidelines for Transit Facilities and re isions to Design Standards for Eugene Streets, Sidewalks, Bikeways and Accessways. 'Both of these do ument were previously adopted by the City Council in December 1993 and were revised in Augus 1996. A portion of the document is a summary of local street design standards adopted y the City Coun it in August 1996.
