/II~'`~ //////I <br /> Apri125, 1996 <br /> Public Works <br /> Administration <br /> City of Eugene <br /> CONTACT: Sue Malone, 683-8823 858 Pearl Street <br /> Santa Clara Sewer Project Public Information Eugene, OR 97401 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (503) 687-5262 <br /> INFORMATION SESSION SCHEDULED FOR 1996 SANTA CLARA SEWER PROJECT <br /> A drop-in information session for property owners affected by the 1996 Santa Clara sewer <br /> project will be held Wednesday, May 8, at the Santa Clara Elementary School Gymnasium, 2685 <br /> River Road (corner of River Road and Hunsaker), from 3 to 7:30 p.m. <br /> Approximately 800 developed properties in Santa Clara are scheduled to receive sewer <br /> service this year in three construction areas, or basins, with assessments to follow in early 1997. <br /> A hearing on forming the 1996 Santa Clara sewer project local improvement district (LID) will be <br /> held May 15 in the City Council Chamber Eugene City Hall, 777 Pearl Street. City Council action <br /> on forming the LID is scheduled for June 10. <br /> This year's sewer construction is expected to begin in June. In bids opened this week, two <br /> local companies submitted the apparent low bids totaling more than $3 million to install sewers in <br /> the three basins. <br /> The apparent low bidders are: Eugene Sand & Gravel Inc., $1,558,315 to install sewers in <br /> Basin 96S; Dan D. Allsup Contractor, $1,173,997 for Basin 96U; and Eugene Sand & Gravel Inc., <br /> $289,490 for Basin 96X. <br /> This will be the last year of work in a seven-year program to install sewers to <br /> approximately 8,100 developed properties in River Road and Santa Clara. Almost 7,300 <br /> <br /> properties in the area already have received sewer service. <br /> <br />
