/I I`~~ <br /> MAY 24, 1996 <br /> Public Works <br /> Administration <br /> CONTACT: Bob Terrel, Project Manager, 687-5560 City of Eugene <br /> 858 Pearl Street <br /> Eugene, OR 97401 <br /> From Public Information Section, 687-5523 (503) 687-5262 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN ON EAST 11TH BETWEEN FRANKLIN AND PEARL <br /> Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 28, on a three-month project to rehabilitate <br /> East 11th Avenue between Franklin Boulevard and Pearl Street. <br /> The City of Eugene project includes replacing and upgrading portions of the wastewater <br /> collection system, rebuilding sections of the roadway, and putting a new surface on the entire <br /> street. The work is being done by Wildish Construction Co., who submitted the low bid of <br /> $895,400. <br /> The contractor will start at High Street and work east for the first phase of the project, <br /> which involves replacing more than 100 wastewater service lines between High Street and <br /> Franklin Boulevard. The project also includes replacing an existing sanitary sewer line on 10th <br /> Avenue between High and Mill streets, and upgrading portions of the wastewater system in <br /> Franklin Boulevard between Onyx and Walnut. <br /> The paving portion of the project includes removing and rebuilding the north travel lane <br /> on East 11th between Kincaid and Pearl streets, rebuilding the full width of East 11th between <br /> Kincaid and Franklin, installing new sidewalk ramps at a number of locations, and overlaying the <br /> <br /> street with a new asphalt surface. <br /> (more) <br /> <br />
