News Release -Business Bicycle Challenge <br /> June 4, 1996/Page 2 <br /> On Thursday, beginning at 5:00 p.m. after the Challenge, a community celebration at <br /> EWEB's Public Plaza will include bicycle ID stamping, certificates and prizes for participating <br /> businesses. An LTD bus with a new bicycle rack carrier will be available for cyclists to practice <br /> loading and unloading. At 5:30 p.m. Jim Wilcox of KRVM-FM radio will announce the winners <br /> of the Business Bicycle Challenge and live jazz will be provided by "The Three." <br /> Festivities continue on Saturday, June 8, when the third annual "Human Powered Parade" <br /> will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Fifth and Olive Streets. The parade will travel south to 13th Avenue, <br /> east to Oak Street, north past the Saturday Market and back to Fifth and Olive. Members of the <br /> community are invited to participate or just stop by and watch the fun. Winners of the Business <br /> Bicycle Challenge will be featured in the parade. <br /> For more information on the events, call Diane Bishop, alternative modes coordinator <br /> with the City of Eugene Public Works Department at 687-5218. <br /> <br /> ~I <br /> <br />
