Another option is to bring leftover leaves to commercial recyclers,
who accept y rd debris for a nominal charge. Finally, the City will collect leaves if they are
i
placed proper~y in the street. Call the City's leaf hotline at 687-5383 for recycling and collection
i
information.
Leaf Recycli g Tips
Arou~d the home, leaves can be used as mulch or compost material. They offer an
economical alternative to costly commercial mulches, fertilizers, soil amendments, and herbicides.
For more inf rrnation, call the City's compost education centers at 465-2744 or the OSU Extension
Service at 68r-4247.
Co ercial recycling centers are another alternative for residents who have more leaves
~ than they or eir neighbors can use. Two local firms, Lane Forest Products and Rexius Forest

i
By-Products# accept yard debris, including leaves, for a nominal fee.
The I ity will deliver leaves to homes in the city limits and to locations just outside the city
limits if the are enough leaves and the hauling distances aren't too great. Property owners who
want leaves elivered to their homes may request delivery by completing a request form. Request
forms are available at a number of locations, including the Eugene Public Works Maintenance
office at 182,0 Roosevelt Boulevard and all Eugene senior centers and community centers.
