Public Works <br /> <br /> February 5, 1996 Administration <br /> City of Eugene <br /> <br /> CONTACT: Ruth Koenig, Eugene Stream Team, 465-2814 858 Pearl Street <br /> Eugene, OR 97401 <br /> From Public Information Section, 465-2739 (503) 687-5262 <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN EUGENE'S WATER QUALITY <br /> Citizens are invited to join their neighbors, friends and family on Saturday, February 10, <br /> for a variety of projects at three different sites sponsored by the Eugene Stream Team and The <br /> Nature Conservancy to clean up and enhance local waterways. <br /> Activities include a nature walk, litter clean-up, vegetation removal, trail work and native <br /> seed planting. The sites are the Delta Ponds near Goodpasture Island Road, Willow Creek at <br /> West 18th Avenue and Bertelsen Road, and along Amazon Creek near East 33rd Avenue. <br /> Participants should wear sturdy shoes or boots, heavy gloves, rain gear and layered <br /> clothing. Bring rakes, shovels, clippers or Toppers. An additional work party is planned for <br /> March 9. The Eugene Stream Team is a volunteer program coordinated by the City of Eugene <br /> Public Works Department. All events are free and open to the public.
