The nine-member wastewater panel includes elected and citizen representatives <br /> from Eugen ,Springfield and Lane County and is responsible for managing the region's $105 <br /> million was ewater facilities. <br /> In h' application for the post, Rutan cited extensive knowledge of wastewater <br /> treatment is ues and a desire to contribute to a long-range plan for the regional wastewater <br /> system. R n served on the Commission from January 1991 through December 1992 as <br /> vice chair a d chair respectively. Katherine Schacht, MWMC general manager, said "Rutan <br /> provided st ng, impartial and thoughtful leadership and guidance" during his tenure. <br /> In S ptember, the Council is scheduled to discuss filling a second Eugene citizen <br /> position on a MWMC. <br /> i <br /> <br />
