A public comment period <br /> begins at 6 p m., and informal discussions start at 7 p.m. The open house is sponsored by the <br /> Ferry Street orridor Citizen Advisory Committee, the Cal Young Neighborhood Association, <br /> and Harlow eighbors. <br /> The erry Street Bridge and its approaches comprise a major transportation corridor in <br /> central Euge e. The corridor under study is about a mile in length and connects downtown <br /> Eugene and e university on the south side of the Willamette River with major transportation <br /> routes and r sidential, commercial, and industrial areas on the north side of the river. <br /> <br /> ' In D cember 1994, following voter rejection of a proposal to expand the Ferry Street <br /> Bridge, the ugene City Council directed the citizen advisory committee to look at alternative <br /> plans for the corridor. The committee will look at transportation and land-use issues in the <br /> northern por 'on of the corridor, as well as issues such as future trolley and high-speed rail <br /> connections nd funding for corridor improvements.
