Tour guides will identify plants, offer historical information about <br /> Hendrick Park, and answer gardening questions. Tours begin at 1 p. m. under the covered <br /> picnic sh lter. <br /> H ndricks Park is located on the eastern edge of Eugene's south hills ridgeline forest. <br /> The 77-a re park contains an internationally recognized rhododendron garden, 300-year-old <br /> fir trees, and several hiking trails overlooking the Willamette River, the University of <br /> Oregon, nd the city of Eugene. Founded in 1951 through the joint efforts of the American <br /> Rhodode dron Society and the Eugene Parks Department, the 8-acre garden displays more <br /> <br /> ',I than 3, rhododendrons and azaleas. The park is accessible by car, bicycle, or bus. <br /> Follow alnut Street to Fairmount Boulevard, then east on Summit Avenue. Or take the #27 <br /> Fairmou t bus to the Summit Avenue stop and walk up the pathway along Summit.
