The event will be held at the Eugene Public <br /> Library and will run from 7 - 8:30 p.m. During the first part of the program, Mayor Bascom <br /> will present certificates to six group. A storyteiler and a lecture on Eugene's wildflowers will <br /> follow. Th public is invited. <br /> Eug ne Stream Team is the volunteer component of the Stormwater Management <br /> Program. ccording to Ruth Koenig, Public Works environmental volunteer coordinator, <br /> i <br /> <br /> ' during the ast ten months, the Eugene Stream Team has worked to bring a heightened <br /> awareness streams, ponds, and wetlands to the community. <br /> "O a important goal of the program is to foster an on-going stewardship of these <br /> areas. At t e May 16 event, the city will recognize the first six groups that are making a <br /> commitmen to adopt a site," said Koenig. <br /> The six groups that will be recognized inlcude the McKinley Neighbors for adopting <br /> Amazon Cr ek from City View to Oak Patch, Friends of Delta Ponds for adopting Delta <br /> Ponds, Frie ds of Dianna's Pond for adopting Dianna's Pond, Central Presbyterian Church for <br /> adopting 'flow Creek Wetlands, Southeast Neighborhood Association for adopting the <br /> Upper Am n Creek, and Miracle on 33rd Street for adopting Amazon Creek from 30th to <br /> 33rd avenu s. <br /> more <br /> <br />
