The <br /> information center, located in the M.Jacobs Plaza at 61 West Eighth Avenue, will be open <br /> from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and at other times by appointment. <br /> According to Dave Reinhard, city transportation engineer, the information center will <br /> contain models, maps, and other information to help people understand four alternatives that <br /> have been studied to address current problems and future traffic growth in the Ferry Street <br /> <br /> ' Bridge corridor. The alternatives range from a no-build scenario to proposals which include <br /> a new six-lane or eight-lane bridge, plus potential new routes across the Willamette River. <br /> The alternatives have been analyzed in a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) <br /> recently published by the city. <br /> The alternatives and the EIS analysis of traffic flow, land use, bicycle-pedestrian <br /> travel, ma$s transit, and other aspects of the study area will be the subject of a public <br /> hearing October 12. The hearing, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council <br /> Chambers,''. 777 Pearl Street, will be conducted by the Ferry Street Bridge Citizen Advisory <br /> Committed and the Eugene Planning Commission. <br /> Staff will be available to answer questions during the open hours at the information <br /> j center.
