The city is proposing an increase in the city's portion of the <br /> sanitary sewer user fees for FY94. There is no increase in the Metropolitan <br /> <br /> j <br /> Wastewater Management Commission (MWMC) sanitary sewer user fee or the city <br /> of Eugene storm drainage user fee. If adopted, the new fees would become <br /> effectiv$ July 1, 1993. <br /> The charges are based on the amount of water consumed by users and are <br /> billed according to water meter readings. The proposed average residential <br /> user increase is $1.26 a month. The proposed increase for commercial users <br /> is $0.21'~,per 1,000 gallons of water used. Commercial users are defined as <br /> low-strength, medium-strength, or high-strength users, based on the <br /> characteristics of the water they discharge. <br /> Accprding to Glen Svendsen, a financial analyst for the Eugene Public <br /> Works De artment, assuming the average household uses 6,000 gallons of water <br /> each mon h, the average monthly billing for a single-family residence inside <br /> the Eugene city limits would be $18.71.
