Currently, the traffic count averages <br /> 37,000 v hid es per day, with an average of 86 accidents per year. <br /> The project includes widening a six-block section of West llth to five <br /> lanes wiirh two lanes in each direction and a center lane for left turns. <br /> The side al!k network from Garfield to Bailey Hill Road will be completed as <br /> part of h~ project. New sidewalks will be eight feet with curb ramps at <br /> intersections. <br /> The final phase of the project will involve upgrading traffic signals <br /> and plan ing street trees. The five existing signals between Garfield and <br /> <br /> Oakpatch will be replaced, and wiring will be installed for a possible future <br /> signal a West 11th and Wilson Street. <br /> Sta a and city capital improvement funds will be used to pay for the <br /> street improvements.
