The city of Eugene Public Works Department will hold an <br /> open house' on the recently released Draft Comprehensive Stormwater Management Plan on <br /> ~~)I Wednesday; August 18, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Eugene Conference Center, O'Neill <br /> ~r Room, at 615 East 6th Avenue. A presentation is scheduled at 5:30 p.m. Citizens are invited <br /> to drop-in at their convenience. Staff will be available to talk individually with interested <br /> citizens about the Plan and the financing strategies. Copies of the Plan will be available at <br /> the event or by calling 465-2739. <br /> The workshop provides an opportunity for citizens to review and discuss the Draft <br /> Plan, which includes goals, policies, recommended actions, and financing strategies related to <br /> the management of Stormwater in Eugene. It integrates existing flood control measures with <br /> federal mandates to improve water quality and protect wetlands and natural resources within <br /> the Eugene', city limits. The Plan also proposes a shift to a multiple objectives program that <br /> balances flood control, water quality enhancement, and the protection of related natural <br /> resources. iOther community objectives, such as recreation, education, and open space <br /> preservatio~h, also are part of the Plan.
