In the interim, dense thickets of <br /> woody veg tation have grown large enough to raise concern among both City staff and nearby <br /> residents th t the creek may back up and cause flooding during a severe storm. <br /> To ddress these concerns, the City is using atwo-phased approach to accomplish this <br /> year's cree maintenance. The first phase, the neighborhood work party, will use volunteers <br /> to manuall remove obstructing vegetation in the creek from Fox Hollow to Snell Avenue. <br /> City staff ill chip and remove the cut vegetation for future use as trail surfacing material. <br /> In the seco d phase, between Hilyard Street and Fox Hollow Road, City staff will use a <br /> <br /> ~1r+ <br /> mechaniz flail mower to remove dense thickets of vegetation obstructing the creek's flow. <br /> Both phase are scheduled after the annual bird nesting season is over. <br /> I <br /> z <br /> i~ <br /> i <br /> <br />
