~~ <br />r <br />C <br />NEWS RELEASE <br />APRIL 24,1991 <br />CONTACT: Eric Jones, River Road/Santa Clara Public Information, 683-8823 <br />FOR IMMED ATE RELEASE <br />BIDS OPENED FOR 1991 RIVER ROAD SEWER PROJECT <br />Two ugene firms and a Dallas, Ore.-based company are the apparent low <br />bidders f r the 1991 phase of the River Road sewer construction project. <br />Euge a Sand & Gravel submitted the low bid of $1,054,491 for work in <br />Basin F, residential area with approximately 370 homes in the general area <br />of Maxwell Road between River Road and Grove Street. The low bid was 20 <br />percent b low the engineer's estimate of $1,325,633. Also bidding on the <br />project w re: Wildish Paving Co.; Pipe Tech, Inc., of Salem; H&J Construction <br />of Eugene• Dan Allsup and Ken Bostick, a local joint venture; and James W. <br />Fowler Co., of Dallas, Ore. The bids were opened April 19. <br />The amen W. Fowler Co., which did the work in two of last year's con- <br />struction basins, on Tuesday submitted the low bid for work in 1991 Basin E, <br />which includes approximately 300 homes generally in the west-central part of <br />the River Road area. Fowler's bid of $997,892 was 27 percent below the engi- <br />neer's es imate of $1,367,666. Also bidding on the Basin E job were: <br />Wildish; ipe Tech; Allsup/Bostick; W.G.
