I „• <br />News Relea a -- River Road Bid Opened <br />May 11, 19 0 <br />Page 2 <br />On M nday, the city will open bids for Basin B, generally located <br />between M xwell Road and Park Avenue and west of Lake Drive. On Tuesday, <br />bids will be opened for Basin C, located between Skipper Avenue and Maxwell <br />Road and est of Grove Street. <br />The ina] bid awards will be made following a May 29 public hearing <br />before th Eugene City Council on forming local improvement districts in the <br />areas to a served by the sewers in the three 1990 construction basins as <br />well as t e existing sewers that have been installed over the past five years <br />in the Ri er Road area. <br />Additional sewer construction in the River Road community south of <br />Beltline Road is scheduled in 1991 and 1992, after which the project will <br />move nor h into the Santa Clara area. The attached map shows the River Road <br />construe ion schedule. <br />The city of Eugene is building sewers in the River Road/Santa Clara <br />areas as required by the federal Environmental Protection Agency and the <br />Oregon D partment of Environmental Quality. <br />Thi summer's construction will provide sewer service to approximately <br />15 perce t of the 8,200 properties in the River Road/Santa Clara area. The <br />EPA has equired the 75 percent of the area to be connected to sewers by <br />1995. <br />~`" ~ #### <br />
