Now the storm <br /> has passed the sand poses a potential hazard, and residents are urged to use <br /> caution wh n walking, driving, or bicycling on sanded roads, sidewalks, or <br /> crosswalks until maintenance crews have removed the sand. Clean up will <br /> begin this week and is expected to take about three weeks to complete. <br /> Accor ing to Bob Hammitt, city maintenance director, traffic has thrown <br /> much of th sand that was spread on the roads onto adjacent sidewalks, bike <br /> paths, and crosswalks. "Bike lanes and sidewalks along arterials and on <br /> I'~, hilly stye is will probably present the greatest hazard, since we <br /> concentrat d our efforts in those areas during the storms," Hammitt said.
