Under that plan, they have developed a bike route system that <br /> has won n tional recognition. <br /> "In t e last few years, we've seen some changes in the way people use <br /> their bic cles," said city Bicycle Coordinator Diane Bishop. "For example, <br /> mountain ike use is gaining in popularity. Given these changes, the <br /> committee decided to review the plan to ensure it still meets the needs of <br /> area bicy lists. The open house is an opportunity for area residents to give <br /> us input n issues such as bicycle safety, commuting by bicycle, bikeway <br /> maintenan e, recreational use, education, and family/group bicycling. The <br /> committee wants to know what people want and what is important to them." <br /> The ugene Bicycle Committee was created in 1970 by former Mayor Les <br /> Anderson.
