Four crews will be working in <br /> various se tions of the city throughout the summer, with completion scheduled <br /> for the en of September. To limit traffic delays, the city will schedule <br /> painting i the central business district in off-peak hours and on Sundays. <br /> Bob N ble, traffic operations supervisor for Public Works, urged <br /> <br /> ~I motorists o watch for crews and to avoid crossing or driving on newly <br /> painted li es. Depending on the weather, new paint can take from three to 10 <br /> <br /> ~I minutes to dry. If motorists drive on the wet paint, it will smear and can <br /> also splas onto the cars, Noble said. Painting sites will be coned, except <br /> for center line and lane line striping. <br /> This summer, the four crews will stripe more than 600 miles of center <br /> lines and lane lines and will paint 100,000 feet of yellow curbs and more <br /> than 6,00 legends, such as bicycle lane markings.
