The realignment is part of a larger project of <br /> intersecti n improvements designed to smooth the flow of traffic into the <br /> <br /> ~I Riverfront Research Park north of Franklin Boulevard, as well as into the <br /> University of Oregon campus. <br /> Wildi h's bid of $1,383,685 was the lowest of four bids submitted on the <br /> project. ther bidders included Slayden Construction, $1,458,094; Kip <br /> Constructi n, $1,555,452; and Eugene Sand and Gravel, $1,579,826. <br /> The p oject will take up to two years to complete. This year's <br /> <br /> I, constructi n is expected to begin in early August, with completion of the <br /> first phas slated by the end of September 1990. The first phase includes <br /> the extensi n of Agate Street northbound between Franklin Boulevard and the <br /> Millrace, t e construction of new pump stations to handle sanitary sewer and <br /> storm drain ge, upgrading traffic signals, and reconfiguring the islands and <br /> turn lanes t the Franklin/Agate intersection. <br /> The se and stage of the project is expected to begin in late September <br /> 1990.
