T e EPA will issue new federal stormwater National Pollution <br /> Discharge E imination System (NPDES) permit regulations in October, 1990. <br /> i <br /> Cities affe ted by the regulations are now beginning the process of <br /> developing rograms to provide the short- and long-term data needed to meet <br /> the new fed ral and state requirements. <br /> The NP ES will have two parts. Part 1 requests information on existing <br /> land use, s orm sewer systems, water quality data, and stormwater management <br /> i <br /> programs. he city of Eugene will be expected to comply with Part 1 within <br /> nine months after promulgation of the final regulations. Part 2 is primarily <br /> a pollution abatement plan that will be formulated from the information <br /> gathered in Part 1. Part 1 and Part 2 must be completed by 1993, with full <br /> compliance y 1996.
