The scouts will stencil drains in the south <br /> hills area, orking their way out from the Edgewaod Elementary School area, <br /> un Saturday, September 28 between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The stencils show a <br /> i'ish and the words, "Dump no waste. Drains to stream." <br /> ~ Accordi g to Maintenance Director, Bob Hammitt, most people don't know <br /> i:hat when t ey dump motor oil, thinner, paint, household cleaners, garbage, <br /> c?r antifree a down a storm drain it is not filtered, but flows directly into <br /> i:he nearest stream or river, eventually moving into other waterways, such as <br /> lakes and w tland areas. "Storm drains are designed to catch the runoff from <br /> i <br /> gain. Thes drains are not connected to the treatment plant, but dump <br /> (directly in o channels and streams.
