Copies of <br /> the draft Wayne Morse Ranch Park Master Plan Report are available at the City <br /> of Eugene Public Works Building, 858 Pearl Street; the Permit and Information <br /> Center, 2 4 East Broadway; the Pubic Works Maintenance Office, 1820 Roosevelt <br /> Boulevard; and the Hilyard Community Center, 2580 Hilyard Street. <br /> Comm pity residents will have an opportunity to offer comments on the <br /> draft mas er plan at a community workshop scheduled for ~e~~a-y, ly 9, <br /> from noon to 2 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. City of Eugene staff <br /> will make a formal presentation at 12:30 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m. The <br /> drop-in m eting will be held at the Hilyard Community Center, 2580 Hilyard <br /> Street. <br /> Acco ding to John Etter, parks landscape architect, the park is <br /> different from other city parks because of its historic and environmental <br /> qualities and for its open spaces. The ranch was owned by the late Senator <br /> Wayne Mor e, and his family asked that the park pass into public ownership <br /> after his death. <br /> The lan addresses the preservation of the remaining woods, which <br /> predate t e Morse family's settlement of the ranch, a perennial stream, and <br /> the wetla d areas in the lower pasture.
