The area under construction runs the automobile dealerships to
425 feet rth of Kingsley Road. The finished 46-foot section of road will include two 12-

~rr foot trave lanes, a 12-foot turn lane, and two 5-foot bike lanes. Construction of curb and
gutters, s rm drains, street lights, and sidewalks are also included. Wildish Construction
Company is the contractor for the $550,000 project.
A least one travel lane will be kept open during construction but traffic is subject to
delay. Fl gers will be on hand to assist. Crews will be working in the area from 7:00 a.m.
unti15:00 p.m. Although actual construction won't begin until Monday, the contractor
advises torists to be aware that they will be setting up some equipment in the area on
Friday, A gust 14.
N for the left-turn lane to avoid safety problems was created by increased traffic
volume f r existing development, as well as anticipated future development in the area.
Present estrian and bicycle facilities are inadequate so bike lanes and sidewalks were
added to a project to lessen future traffic demands by encouraging alternative modes of
transpo tion. The existing asphalt roadway is deteriorating but at this point can still be
incorpora ed into the improvements and avoid the cost of full removal and replacement of
the street urface.
e project will be paid for through the City's systems development and road fund
and asses ments to adjacent property owners.
r
