<br /> ~ Maintenan e Shows Holiday Spirit <br /> By 'Adopt'ng' Needy Family <br /> You ~on't find them on the employee roster, but a local needy family is <br /> definitel in the hearts of the workers at the Public Works Maintenance <br /> Division. <br /> By t king part in the Salvation Army's Adopt-A-Family program, the 180 <br /> Maintenan e employees are making sure that the family of six - four children <br /> and their parents - will have a happy holiday season. <br /> Seve al hundred dollars already has been raised, and donations will be <br /> used to p rchase gifts for the family, the fixings for a holiday dinner, and <br /> extra non-perishable food supplies. Helping coordinate the effort for the <br /> Maintenan a Division are Donna Stark and Kandy Hanes. The Salvation Army <br /> makes surge that the food and gifts get to the family, the name of which is <br /> kept confidential. <br /> "The Maintenance Division decided that, since we're fortunate enough to <br /> have jobs, we could share with folks in the community who may be less <br /> fortunate this season," says Division Director Bob Hammitt. <br /> Ham itt challenges other City divisions to reach out and help those in <br /> need. "hey can adopt a family of their own, or they can join us and we'll <br /> adopt a ouple of families," he says.
