The Council <br /> directed e Downtown Commission to act as a design review body and to <br /> recommen an Olive Street design for Council approval. <br /> On March 17, the Downtown Commission voted to tentatively recommend a <br /> conceptua design for re-opening Olive Street to traffic. Following the public <br /> hearing, t e Commission will make a final recommendation on a preferred design <br /> concept a d will forward that recommendation to the City Council for approval. <br /> The City ouncil will use the conceptual design it approves in order to inform <br /> ~ voters ab ut what a re-opened Olive Street might look like. <br /> The desig concept tentatively approved by the Downtown Commission contains <br /> the folio ing elements: <br /> • T o 14' lanes for two way traffic; <br /> • ft turn Ianes at 8th and 10th Street intersections; <br /> -more- - <br /> <br />
