Other improvements over the past five months include, 1.8 <br /> ~ miles of ew roadways, construction of a covered pedestrian walkway from the <br /> parking 1 is to the terminal, rental car wash building, installation of a new <br /> irrigatio system, lighting, directional signs and 23 acres of landscaping. <br /> Whil most of the landside construction is completed, work will continue <br /> through N vember on the new parking toll plaza, but the work will not cause <br /> any delay to airport users. In addition, landscape work will continue <br /> j throughou the winter and spring months as crews plant approximately 40,000 <br /> ~ trees and shrubs on the airport grounds. All landscape work is scheduled for <br /> for compl tion by June, 1988. Wildish Corvallis Construction Co., is the <br /> contracto for the landside construction project. <br /> Land ide construction is part of the two-year, $18.3 million construction <br /> project a the airport. The terminal expansion is scheduled to begin in April <br /> 1988, and will increase current terminal space from 24,000 square feet to <br /> 90,000 s uare feet. The project includes expanding the lobby and security <br /> areas, c nstructing a larger, mechanized baggage claim area, increasing the <br /> commerci 1 space, and building a second level concourse with an observation <br /> I <br /> deck.
