Mahlon Sweet Airport in Eugene has installed a <br /> construction hotline to update air travelers and airport users and personnel <br /> about cur ent construction activity, parking availability and changes, time <br /> delays, a d traffic flow changes. To reach the hotline, call 341-5867. The <br /> line will be updated by 4 p.m. every Friday afternoon with the construction <br /> ~ work sche uled for the following week. <br /> Acco ding to Bob Staley, project manager, construction at Mahlon Sweet <br /> is progre sing at a rapid pace. Work scheduled this week includes excavation <br /> throughou the project area, landscape preparation, and the beginning <br /> j construct on on a new car rental facility, anew toll plaza booth at the <br /> airport a it, and a covered pedistrian walkway from the parking lot to the <br /> terminal. Curbs, gutters, and sidewalks will be installed on the south side <br /> ~ of Dougla Drive during the next two weeks. <br /> I'~ Plen y of long- and short-term parking is available at the airport, <br /> said Stal y. Last week long-term parking was relocated to a temporary lot <br /> across th street from the terminal, and free shuttle buses are shuttling <br /> passenger and luggage from the temporary lot to the airport terminal. <br /> Short-tern parking is not affected. <br /> more <br /> i <br /> <br />
