Several pre-bid conferences and <br /> site tours are being scheduled for February and March. Bids will be opened <br /> i <br /> March 29. Construction is expected to begin in early 1988, with completion <br /> of the to urinal by fall, 1989. <br /> ~I Acco ding to Christine Andersen, city of Eugene public works director, <br /> the city is expecting a heavy construction season this year, so is encouraging <br /> northwest contractors to bid on the project. <br /> II "Eug ne has an unusual number of large construction projects scheduled <br /> ~ for this ummer, so we will have fewer local contractors, laborers, and <br /> specialty trade workers available to work on the airport terminal project. <br /> ' Since we re under an extremely tight schedule and budget, we will need a <br /> competiti a bidding process to ensure the project is completed on time and <br /> within bu get." <br /> The roject will expand the present terminal from 24,220 square feet to <br /> I <br /> 85,716 sq are feet and will add an additional 28,000 square feet of covered <br /> more <br /> <br />
