~¦t ~ ~ <br /> [~~7/T CX~I~C> > <br /> <br /> ~ SECOND AN IVERSARY 2-2-2-2 <br /> its two airlines, NPA and WestAir, were given the prestigious <br /> "Regional Airline of the Year" award by the industry's leading <br /> trade ma azine, Air Transport World. <br /> Dur'ng the same month, United Express/NPA announced delivery <br /> ! ! of its f rst 30-passenger aircraft, the state-of-the-art Embraer <br /> Brasilia This important fleet addition allowed the company to <br /> add long r routes, such as Seattle-Boise, to its system, and to <br /> offer m re capacity on heavily traveled routes such as the <br /> corridor between Seattle and Portland. By the end of 1989, the <br /> airline ill have taken delivery of five Brasilias direct from <br /> the fact ry floor, part of a $48 million, eight-aircraft order <br /> a that wil be completed by 1990. <br /> In June, United Express/NPA added yet another new type of <br /> aircraft to its fleet, the British Aerospace Jetstream Super 31. <br /> Higher-p veered versions of the 19-passenger Jetstream the airline <br /> ~r?° has use since its start-up, the Super Jetstreams will provide <br /> top per ormance at high altitudes and hot air temperatures, <br /> conditi ns which apply to many cities a significant part of the <br /> year. U ited Express/NPA will receive a total of 22 Super 31s <br /> through 1992 16 to replace existing aircraft and six to <br /> augment the fleet for future growth. <br /> "I capsule form, our success is a combination of <br /> appropr'ate goals, careful planning, steady growth, and dedicated <br /> personn 1," he said. <br /> "I the bigger picture, however, it's a never-ending series <br /> of comp ex decisions that are made every day by every person who <br /> works or United Express/NPA.
