The flow-based sewer <br /> charges will remain in effect from December 1 through May 15. In a typical <br /> year, sew r charges change on November 1 from flow-based averaging to one in <br /> <br /> ~ which cus omers are billed for the actual water they use. <br /> In 1 84 the city implemented a flow-based averaging procedure that allows <br /> customers to use as much water as needed between May and October for watering <br /> lawns, it igating gardens, and washing vehicles. Charges are based on the <br /> previous inter's average use or the actual consumption, whichever is less. <br /> <br /> ~ November hrough April, the six winter months, sewer charges are billed <br /> according to actual water meter readings. <br /> Cust mers who irrigated through the dry weather in October, should not <br /> be penali ed with higher sewer user charges, said George Jessie, public <br /> <br /> i works sew r rate manager. When the dry weather continued into October, <br /> <br /> i <br /> <br /> ~ Jessie sa d the city decided to adjust the schedule to fit the weather and the <br /> <br /> I <br /> needs of he community. <br /> City of Eugene sewer user charges are billed by the Eugene Water and <br /> Electric oard in their monthly utility billings. <br /> <br />
