Prior to <br /> that she as Director of the House of Representatives Research Agency for the <br /> <br /> i <br /> Alaska 1 gislature. <br /> "I' a enjoyed working for the City," says Brody, "but during the next <br /> few years I'd like to pursue my career in a way that allows me more time to <br /> spend wi h my son." Brody plans to remain in Eugene and work as a consul- <br /> tant. <br /> Brod says her tenure with the City has presented some interesting and <br /> challenge g planning issues. "I'm most pleased with the progress we've made <br /> working ith Springfield and Lane County on urban transition issues. Inter- <br /> : governmen al cooperation is a key to the success of our metro planning pro- <br /> gram. An exation is still one of the toughest issues ahead. River Road and <br /> Santa Cla a are urban areas without an urban level of public services. <br /> Extending urban services to that area in a way that people can accept and <br /> afford is definitely a challenge." <br /> As P arming Director, Brody is responsible for a staff of 18 and a <br /> budget of ~1.Z million. <br /> City Manager Mike Gleason has not made a decision on a successor. <br /> <br />
